Cannabis is a plant that makes a thick substance full of compounds called cannabinoids. There are more than 100 Cannabinoids in cannabis. CBD (cannabidiol) and THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) are the most common cannabinoids found in cannabis products. Hemp and Marijuana are simply broad classifications of the Cannabis plant.
THC and CBD are cannabinoids that are found in both Marijuana and Hemp. Marijuana contains much more THC than Hemp. Hemp has more CBD than THC.
Hemp is a term used to classify varieties of Cannabis that contain 0.3% or less THC. Hemp does not have any intoxicating effects.
Marijuana is a term used to classify varieties of Cannabis that contain more than 0.3% THC and can induce psychotropic, intoxicating or euphoric effects.
Both Hemp and Marijuana can produce high amounts of CBD. However, Legal Hemp can only contain 0.3% of THC.
